Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-2000) with the Yoga Alliance since 2008
I took my first yoga class in Minneapolis in 1981; I continued in an on-again off-again fashion for the next two decades, at which point my personal practice of yoga began to deepen.
I was given an opportunity to teach with Lakes Area Yoga Association (LAYA) after receiving their yoga teacher training, as well as a certification in Pilates instruction, in 2006. That year I began to offer Yoga-Pilates blend classes and realized that I LOVE this sort of work.
In 2008, I took a rigorous teacher training course from Mary Beth Nehl at the Yoga Loft in Willmar. I received a RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) from the Yoga Alliance, 200-hour level, in November of that year.
I have been offering three or four classes a week since receiving my RYT certification. Offering these classes has become central to my own practice and is a labor of love.
Where do you teach?
I primarily teach in the Brainerd studio of Lakes Area Yoga Association:
What is your style?
I am Iyengar-influenced but prefer to teach an eclectic blend of asana, pranayama and relaxation. All of my classes are “gentle” and accessible to people of most ages, sizes and abilities.
How do I get more information on this?
